We have fond memories of Žovnek Castle. After being in various disputes and conflicts with the Lords of Žovnek for several years, we concluded a truce and friendship last year (well, after we brought them to their knees, they actually asked for a truce and alliance). We have now had two beautiful Saturdays at Vurberg and Ptuj Castles and since third time’s a charm, a messenger from Žovnek Castle has arrived on horse to invite us to visit them. The vines have borne abundant fruit and the forests are full of wild boars and the Lords of Žovnek is once again inviting us to visit for a feast. This time they will pay homage to their Veronika Deseniška, as we hear it is around 600 years since her trial!

Since we have destroyed so many of our weapons against them in the past, they intend to give us a whole new set of axes, swords and shields as compensation. This is a really nice gesture, and we will be happy to attend the celebration! They say they plan to give us so many weapons that we won't even need to lug our old blades with us. Žovnek Castle, we’re coming! And we invite all our friends who would like to join us and participate. On Saturday, September 20th, from 10 am at Žovnek Castle!

Grad Žovnek imamo v lepem spominu. Po tem, ko smo kar nekaj let bili v raznih sporih in spopadih z gospodo Žovneško, smo lani sklenili premirje in prijateljstvo (no, po tem ko smo jih spravili na kolena, so prav prosili za premirje in zavezništvo). Zdaj smo imeli dve lepi soboti na Vurberškem in Ptujskem gradu in ker gre v tretje rado, je prijahal še sel z gradu Žovnek, da smo vabljeni v obisk k njim. Trte so bogato obrodile in gozdovi so polni merjascev in gospoda Žovneška nas ponovno vabi v obisk na na rajanje. Tokrat se bodo poklonili svoji Veroniki Deseniški, kot slišimo je okroglih 600 let od njenega procesa!

Ker smo v preteklosti proti njim uničili toliko svojega orožja, nam nameravajo pokloniti cel nov set sekir, mečev in ščitov, kot odpravnino. To pa je res lepa gesta, in z veseljem se bomo udeležili slavja! Baje nam nameravajo pokloniti toliko orožja, da sploh ne rabimo svojih starih rezil vlačiti s seboj. Grad Žovnek, pridemo! In se seboj vabimo še vse svoje prijatelje, ki bi se radi poveselili in udeležili. V soboto, 20. kimavca ozirom 20 septembra od desete ure na gradu Žovnek!
