- The Temple at Uppsala (Sweden) was a religious centre in the Norse religion. Statues of three specific gods sitting on a triple throne were worshiped there. Thor, the mightiest, sat in the middle, and on each side of him were Odin and Freyr. Near the temple stood a massive evergreen tree with far-spreading branches, and next to it was a spring where sacrifices were held.
